I am writing to you in support of two issues: President Obama’s economic stimulus plan and the Uniting American Families Act.
Both parties have contributed to America’s current economic problems. From deregulation to irresponsible spending, now is the time to put aside party politics and unite behind the President’s plan. While the plan may not be perfect, I urge you to support it and join the Democrats in their efforts to rebuild the nation’s economy.
From the macro level to the micro level, I would very much like to participate in the nation’s economic recovery. I am blocked, however, because I cannot sponsor my partner purely because we both happen to be women. The Uniting American Families Act would bring the country out of the dark ages and allow highly skilled individuals like me to return. While this is a civil rights issue, it’s also an economic one. If we live in the United States, our tax dollars would further its recovery. Please, Representative Wolf, join the Democratic sponsors of this bill, foster the cooperative spirit in Washington, and allow me to move back to the country I love.
